DISPEL: “to prove to be false or erroneous….”

About The Site

SATAN DISPELLED is a site about disproving the

existence of The (Satan) many churches,

theologians and authors these days speaks about.

SATAN coming from the Hebrew mindset is simply “…a noun from a verb meaning primarily ‘to obstruct, oppose’, as it is found in Numbers 22:22, 1 Samuel 29:4, Psalms 109:6. Ha-Satan is traditionally translated as ‘the accuser’ or ‘the adversary’. The definite article ha- (English: ‘the’) is used to show that this is a title bestowed on a being, versus the name of a being. Thus, this being would be referred to as ‘the satan’.” [Wikipedia] DISPEL “…means to drive away…, …to disperse, and is used literally (dispel clouds, fog , etc.) and with generalized abstract nouns (dispel fear, notions, suspicions , etc.). It is not idiomatically used with an indivisible entity as object (dispel an accusation, a rumour , etc.); other verbs (rebut, refute , etc.) are available for such...[source: Fowler’s Dictionary of Modern English Usage (4 ed.)] All the verses that have been used to prove the existence of a fallen angel called “Satan” can easily be disproved and shown to be credited to other humans and even to Yahweh Himself. The true meaning is only discovered when we go back to the original language and see it from a first audience’s perspective.
“The   word   in   the   Hebrew   is   ha   sawtawn   or   the   satan ,   and   is   properly   translated as     opposer      or     adversary .     The     Holy Scriptures,    the    Hebrew    Scriptures,    are the    only    documents    that    are    said    by apostles   like   Paul   to   be   good   for   making doctrine.   According    to    that    fact,    any    doctrine    on Satan   must   be   derived   from   a   thorough   and   correct understanding   of   the   doctrine   found   in   the   Hebrew Scriptures.” “in   Zechariah,    as   in   Job    and   I   Chronicles 21 ,   there   is   absolutely   no   evidence   that this    sawtawn ’    or    Satan ’    is    anything resembling    the    Satan    preached    by    the churches.” “According    to    Epps,    references    in    the Bible   to   the   devil   and   Satan   are,   in   the main,     to     be     understood     as     personi- fications     of     the     lustful     principle     in humans.”
“…devils and demons are simply man-made, hairy goat-idols.”
I dedicate this site to two pastor, one in the Philippines and one at home in the USA, and to all those out there who still believes in a literal “Satan.”
