The Anti-Christ

How most of society sees the Antichrist…

“Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.” 1 John 2:18 KJV It is believed by most that “…the arising of many antichrists proves that the spirit of antichrist is already in the world, or that by them the way is fully prepared for the one personal antichrist.”[Pulpit Commentaries - 1 John 2] This one human Antichrist, that they claim is suppose to reveal himself, after the rapture or even before, is also labeled with many descriptions, or names, such as: The king of Babylon (Is. 14:4) The little horn (Daniel 7:8) The prince that shall come (Daniel 9:26) The willful king (Daniel 11:36) The idol shepherd (Zech. 11:16-17) The man of sin (2 Thess.. 2:3) The son of perdition (2 Thess. 2:3) The lawless one (2 Thess. 2:8) The Antichrist (1 John 2:22) The beast (Rev. 11:7)

The way the Bible really defines Antichrist…

The word “antichrist“ is found only within John’s writings. What we see, when reading John’s letters is that the word, or name, “antichrist” is found only in 1st John 2:22, 1st John 2:23, 1st John 4:3 and 2nd John 7. None of the other 66 books, of the Bible, is the word antichrit to be found such as Daniel, which the call “the prince,” 2 Thessalonians, which they call the “man of sin” or “lawlessness,” or even within Revelation where they find the “beast.” It is as if they are making their own trinitarian antichrist by bringing together the “prince,” “man of sin,” and the “beast” when each of those labels represents someone totally different. So, how does the Bible define “antichrist?” We can determine the definition, of the antichrist, by reading each of the four passage, for ourselves, that John has been guided by the Spirit to proclaim: 1. Anyone “who denies that Jesus is the Christ” (1st John 2:22) 2. Anyone who “denies the Father and Son” (1st John 2:23) 3. “Every spirit that does not confess Jesus” (1st John 4:3) 4. “Those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist” (2nd John 7) John’s definition of antichrist seems to not be speaking of an individual but of many people. People who simple has denied, refused, rejected the gospel of Christ Yeshua coming in the flesh and dying on the cross and rose again. So, John’s warning could of been the description of someone teaching a different gospel such as the Mormons, Muslims, Jehovah Witnesses, etc. and on and on. As B.B. Warfield put it: “In one word, “Antichrist” meant for John just denial of what we should call the doctrine, or let us rather say the fact, of the Incarnation.” Let us read that 1 John 2:18 passage one more time, but this time we will read it in a different version that brings forth a word for word meaning unlike the KJV that “…contains many obsolete words…” which is said to have changed in it’s meaning over the length of time. Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour. 1 John 2:18 NASB Not only was the antichrist not just one but many, the timing also states that it was happening right there and then within their own lifetime which declares the end of days was for them and not for us today.

The truth of the matter…

“…this picture of Antichrist as a world ruler who persecutes the Jews during an alleged tribulation period and then leads the armies of the Gentiles against the Jews in Palestine is pure fiction,…” [The Millennium (c) 1957 BY LORAINE BOETTNER Sections 3 Chapter 5 “The Antichrist”]
